De forse loonstijgingen van afgelopen jaren hebben, in tegenstelling tot de waarschuwingen van De Nederlandsche Bank en van werkgevers, niet geleid tot een loonprijsspiraal. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van de Rabobank, waar het FD over schrijft. Volgens auteur Marijn Jongsma kijkt de bank naar de productiviteit. 'Als je al duur was en je wordt steeds duurder, dan prijs je jezelf vrij snel uit de markt. Als je goedkoop wordt en je wordt steeds goedkoper, dan heb je ruimte om de loonstijging op te vangen.'
