Twee mensenrechtenorganisaties in Israël, B'Tselem en Physicians for Human Rights, beschuldigen Israël van het plegen van genocide van Palestijnen in Gaza. Hoewel meerdere internationale organisaties al eerder tot dezelfde conclusie waren gekomen, is het voor het eerst dat twee alom gerespecteerde Israëlische organisaties harde kritiek uiten op het regeringsbeleid. Volgens Geert-Jan Knoops, advocaat bij het Internationaal Strafhof in Den Haag, bevestigen de rapporten eerder het beeld van wat er in Gaza afspeelt, dan dat het echt juridisch bewijsmateriaal zal zijn.
