Israël werkt aan een nieuw hulpplan voor Gaza, gericht op de verdeling van voedsel. Officieel gaat het om humanitaire hulp, maar volgens The New York Times zitten er ook politieke motieven achter. Het project is opgezet door een Amerikaans ogend bedrijf, maar met betrokkenheid van Israëlische functionarissen. Via het plan zou Israël de invloed van Hamas willen terugdringen. De Verenigde Naties en andere hulporganisaties uiten felle kritiek.
