De Europese Commissie wil de importquota van staal naar de EU halveren om te voorkomen dat de Europese staalmarkt wordt overspoeld door buitenlands staal. Ook wil de Commissie het importtarief voor staal buiten de importquota verdubbelen. Dat schrijft Eurocommissaris Stéphane Séjourné (Industrie) op X. ‘Een stevig pakket om de Europese staalindustrie te redden’, zegt Europacorrespondent Stefan de Vries.
