Uit onderzoek van Clingendael blijkt dat Europa een fikse achterstand heeft op het gebied van kunstmatige intelligentie ten opzichte van de Verenigde Staten. Waar het Amerikaanse OpenAI met haar ChatGPT is uitgegroeid tot de meest gebruikte AI-tool, daar is het volgens het instituut Clingendael cruciaal voor Europa om ‘de enorme voorsprong stukje bij beetje bij te benen’, aldus Clingendael-onderzoeker Maaike Okano-Heijmans.
