Criminele organisaties blijken in Nederland op grote schaal geld wit te wassen. Ze doen dit door misbruik te maken van onderaannemers en zzp’ers die met contant geld worden uitbetaald. Dat schrijft de Financial Intelligence Unit Nederland (FIU) in haar jaarverslag. ‘Dat contante geld komt vanuit het criminele circuit en wordt op die manier op grote schaal witgewassen’, zegt David Langenkamp van de FIU.
