De Europese Commissie wil dat de Europese Unie volledig stopt met de import van Russische fossiele brandstoffen, zoals olie, gas en van kernenergie. Daarom moet de EU na het einde van dit jaar geen nieuwe Russische gasdeals meer maken en moet eind 2027 alle import van Russisch gas zijn stopgezet, staat in de routekaart die de Europese Commissie dinsdag heeft gepresenteerd. 'Hoe sneller we die afhankelijkheid kunnen afbouwen, hoe beter dat is', stelt Mohammed Chahim, Europarlementariër namens GroenLinks-PvdA.
