Wie van Schiphol naar China vliegt met een Chinese luchtvaartmaatschappij, spekt ongemerkt de Russische staatskas. Per vlucht gaat tot 8000 euro naar Rusland voor luchtverkeersleiding, goed voor zo'n 18 miljoen euro per jaar, blijkt uit onderzoek van BNR. De totale geldstroom is zelfs nog groter, omdat Rusland behalve de kosten voor de luchtverkeersleiding ook nog royalties in rekening brengt voor het gebruik van het luchtruim. De hoogte van deze royalties is onbekend.
