Het Britse BP heeft naar eigen zeggen de grootste olievondst in een kwart eeuw gedaan, voor de kust van Brazilië. Toch zal dit veld ‘niet het verschil maken’, zegt energiedeskundige Jilles van den Beukel van het Haags Centrum voor Strategische Studies (HCSS). Het is al de tiende ontdekking van olie dit jaar. Eerdere vondsten van BP waren onder andere in Trinidad & Tobago, de Golf van Mexico en Egypte.
