May 19, 1983, a mother was driving to a hospital with her threechildren after they had been shot. She told police that while she was driving,a “bushy haired man” flagged her down and when she stopped, he tried to hijackher car and when she refused, he shot her three kids and her in the arm. Shesaid she got away from the man because she pretended to throw her keys todistract the man then sped away toward the hospital. The town was in totalparanoia… This is the story of Diane Downs!
