The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 06/25/21
Friday, June 25th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. After many exorbitant, corporate festivities for the first White-recognized edition of Juneteenth, summer 2021 began with black University of Washington enforcement officers filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit charging "unbearable racism" against the institution. Officers allege that fellow White officers made racist jokes about watermelon and Popeye's fried chicken. Again, counter-racism in the workplace is about expecting these types of Racist remarks and having logical responses that don't cause problems. #WorkplaceHarassment INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Invest in The C.O.W.S. - https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. The C.O.W.S. LAbyrinth: The Assassination of Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace, LAPD Racism Part 3
Thursday, June 24th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 3rd study session on Randall Sullivan's LAbyrinth : A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B. I. G. , the Implications of Death Row Records' Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal. Sullivan is an actor, journalist, producer, screenwriter, and author who's hosted a television program on Oprah Winfrey's network and written reports for The Washington Post and Rolling Stone. And, he's a White man. Way back when The C.O.W.S. was in middle of reading Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life, Gus said that a master class on the Simpson trial would examine that case in context with the beating of Rodney King and the subsequent trial and rioting, the LAPD Rampart scandal, and the assassinations of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. The book club just concluded Geronimo Pratt's biography, which examines how the very same LAPD and Los Angeles district attorney's office conspired to keep an innocent black male caged for 25 years - where he could have easily been killed. Importantly, the former Black Panther and COINTELPRO victim Pratt was Shakur's godparent. Last week, Sullivan made it clear: O.J. Simpson is a "murder." Sullivan described the mid 1990's as a time when White LAPD officers were bitter about "Affirmative Action" hiring policies, black officers who thought O.J. Simpson was innocent, and being the target of lingering resentment from the 1992 riots. He also stated that White officers feared being hauled into court and interrogated by Johnnie Cochran. He details the 1997 killing of Kevin Gaines, a black LAPD officer. Sullivan insists that Gaines had previous incidents of road rage, and that a number black officers intimidated witnesses to give testimony damaging to the White police shooter, Frank Lyga. #COINTELPRO #LosAngeles INVEST in The COWS – paypal.me/TheCOWS The C.O.W.S. Abolition Today – What is Slavery?
As slavery abolitionists it's amazing that after all this time, blood, destruction, and suffering, we still don't know what the most basic terms which define the history of this country mean. Ask ten people to define slavery and see what you get. Next try it with race/racism. Even the word abolition has been co-opted and redefined. Normally when you ask someone to define these terms they'll tell you what they think as if guesses (educated or not) are perfectly acceptable because no one agrees on any particular definition. Sirius B? How can everyone in this country who has ever went to school not know the answer to this immediately? It's only been over 4 hunnit gotdam years of it being the source of our woes right? Right?! We're going to help with that problem. We've searched the records nationally and internationally to find a detailed definition which is legally accepted nearly worldwide. I've consulted with experts and taken council. June 6th we'll answer the question; What is Slavery? So you won't have to guess no more.

Abolition Today – The Pro-Slavery Legislators Who Want To Keep Slavery Legal in 2021
Call into speak with the host (515) 605-9814 This week both Yusuf and Max are back LIVE. We've got tons of updates on the abolition efforts nationwide. We'll be dropping dimes on all the racist AF Republican legislators who have shown no shame in either voting to keep slavery constitutionally legal, or killing anti-slavery bills by cunningly refusing to schedule them for committee hearings. We'll also talk about the recent ruthless supreme court ruling that threw away over 1,500 lives like they didn't even matter. And finally, we want you to know all about the murder and ensuing cover-up of Ronald Greene. What was done to him by police and politicians is worthy of a revolution all by itself. These are crimes against humanity and you need to know now. Of course, we've got powerful profound music, spoken word, and bombshell audio clips to share. As always, we'll honor our forbears and bring the voices of the ancestors back to life with our Bridging The Gap Segment.
The C.O.W.S. The U.S. Highways Are Structures of White Supremacy
Monday, May 18th 3:00PM Eastern/ 12:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Sarah Jo Peterson, PhD, Dr. Tierra Billls, and Dr. Amanda Phillips de Lucas. An independent transportation consultant and author, Peterson explores the history of and development of the U.S. highway system. Peterson wrote the books The Transportation Research Board and Planning the Home Front. We'll discuss her more recent project which is a series of reports which examine the deliberate way Whites have used U.S. highways to obliterate areas where black people are allowed to live, work, and attempt to operate businesses. Dr. Bliss and Dr. de Lucas also wrote on this topic, addressing road construction and Racism in Minnesota and Maryland respectively. Dr. Bliss describes how this trauma is personal to her family, where members were displaced with the construction of highways in Michigan. Similar to when White Terrorist violence or weaponized property taxes were used to loot property from black people, U.S. highways were also strategically implemented to dispossess black people. #WhitePeopleLieAboutRacism INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Invest in The C.O.W.S. - https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. The 5W1H Show: “Mississippi Still Burning” Book Review Part 1 Ep 3
On this episode of The 5W1H Show I review the 2018 release of the text "Mississippi Still Burning", authored by James Hart Stern and written by Autumn K. Robinson. James Hart Stern (Black Male) is falsely imprisoned in Mississippi, once there he's assigned to be cellmates with notorious white supremacist Edgar Ray Killen. While in greater confinement Killen begins to give accounted details of his many terroristic acts against victims of racism, most notably the murder of the civil rights workers in 1964. Killen also reveals exactly that much of terrorism enacted upon the victims of racism at that time was sanctioned by the local and federal government. And there's a Joe Biden connection in there also. Through the direct less refined racist speech and ideas of Killen you'll see a refinement attempt for not only Killen but White Supremacist movements and organizations. This was a very informative text about the system of racism. https://www.blacktalkradionetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/The5W1HShowmissstillburnreview.mp3

The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 05/07/21
Friday, May 7th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. The year's worth of disruption resulting from Covid-19 allowed many powerful White people to hang out at home on zoom since last spring. Meanwhile, lots of non-white workers have been forced to continue commuting to a physical location. This new divide may be permanent for some, as a number of powerful workers will be allowed to continue to remain at home for all or a substantial portion of their work week. C.O.W.S.'s listeners have reported this exact dynamic - their White supervisors have "Zoomed" in their pajamas, offering remote (often, useless) managerial support. We'll also discuss one work site where workers are demanding the right to discuss politics and current events on the job. Gus thinks this is a horrendous idea. #WorkplaceSafety INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Invest in The C.O.W.S. - https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. The C.O.W.S. Last Man Standing: The Tragedy and Triumph of Geronimo Pratt Part 10
Thursday, May 6th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 10th study session on Jack Olsen's Last Man Standing: The Tragedy and Triumph of Geronimo Pratt. Olsen is a White man, and a prolific author. He wrote for Sport Illustrated during the turbulent 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Olsen detailed Pratt's frustration with being caged while his wife Ashaki struggled to parent two children by herself. Pratt's hopes were repeatedly dashed when White judges rejected his appeals for a new trial. Their dismissals generally included insistence the Julius Butler was not an FBI informant, and that Pratt had received a "fair" (although not perfect) trial. He continued to invest his time constructively while confined, he gained seniority among other inmates and worked to keep his mind and body healthy. #StillLearning #COINTELPRO INVEST in The COWS – paypal.me/TheCOWS The C.O.W.S. Abolition Today – Paper Tigers S2-E18
The DOJ has announced it will be investigating police in Minneapolis, MN and Saint Louis, MO. Just like they investigated Ferguson, Alabama, and Ohio. Let’s look at the DOJ mission statement.; “To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.” In each case they have found unconstitutional patterns and practices where nothing has come from it. If you can’t enforce the constitution what good are you? Paper Tigers. We’ll also listen to a discussion from Dr Joy James. Professor of the Humanities and professor of political science. During Mellon Sawyer Seminar on Contemporary Political Struggle: abolition x communism, Dr James really stood up for us in the slavery abolitionist movement. You’ve got to hear this smack-down of academia and academics regarding abolition as a philosophy versus literal slavery abolition. Paper Tigers. We've got updates on the Abolish Slavery National Network and of course we’ve got Abolitionist music, poetry and we’ll bring the ancestors words to life with our Bridging The Gap segment. BTR News – The RIAA Is Culpable In Accidental Killing of Gabrielle Jones & Other Victims of Gun Violence
Gaston County, NC – Gabrielle Jones, just 7 yrs old, was killed this month by an uncle in an accidental shooting. According to local news reports, police said Jeremy Quintrel Lewis was shooting a rap music video inside the home Gabrielle lived which is located on Ware Avenue in Gastonia, NC. Apparently, Lewis used real guns as props for the video. When it comes to gun violence whether intended or not, it is very concerning that children are among the many, many victims of gun violence in the United States. Solutions to stop the carnage seem to be lacking. The United States culturally is based on violence and as a nation, historically, one could argue has been one of the most violent barbaric nations on the face of the planet. However, when it comes to the African-American community culturally, our rich and historic culture in the arts and music has been perverted by the music industry also known as the Recording Industry Association of America, a trade organization representing the industry players. They are most responsible for the content perversion. The RIAA is more responsible, other than the television and movie industry, in promoting and celebrating violent conflict resolution. Rap music today is judged not by the industry on any kind of culturally artistic intellectual achievement but rather is based on sales which are equated to popularity and no one drives violent pornographic rap sales more than white people who also profit the most from its dissemination through various labels. If Black Lives Matter is a principle white people agree on, then why don’t they stop purchasing music that equates Black people with n-words whose lives don’t matter in the lyrical content. Sure the recording artists bear some responsibility but the lion’s share of the fault rests with the captains of industry and the consumer base. Kwabena Rasulit of Clear Air Waves Project joined BTR News podcast to share his thoughts on the culpability of the RIAA in the gun violence that plays out every day across the United States, particularly horrific stories from small towns to big cities.
