2025 Schedule looks favorable for Bills in final year at old Highmark Stadium
The Bills open with four of the first five games at home, along with the last two in 2025 in a schedule where they'll face six playoff teams that spreads out favorably. They've got a total of five prime time games (at least for now) starting with the opener in Orchard Park against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Bills place heavy emphasis on defense in 2025 draft
As the 2024 season came to a close again short of the Super Bowl, there was an all too familiar theme: The Bills had come up short on defense. Buffalo looked to change that in the draft, with the first five picks and six of the first seven and nine overall on the defensive side of the ball. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana have analysis. Bills target key areas of need in first three rounds of draft
Cornerback and defensive line, not necessarily in that order, were the biggest areas of need for the Buffalo Bills heading into the draft, and that's exactly where GM Brandon Beane went over the first three rounds. Buffalo selected cornerback Max Hairston with the 30th overall pick, traded up to get South Carolina defensive tackle TJ Sanders in the second round, and in the process added a third round pick which they used on Arkansas edge rusher Landon Jackson. 30th pick or trade back? What or who is in the Bills future on draft night w/ Chris Trapasso
The NFL Draft begins Thursday night and the Bills will start the first round with the 30th pick. Will they stay put, will they trade up or trade back? Brandon Beane certainly has options and to help us break down how some of those options might play out, Sal welcomes CBS Sports draft analyst Chris Trapasso to the show. Chris does a great job evaluating college prospects, and he had plenty to offer as the Bills ponder defensive tackles, cornerbacks and edge rushers, both in the first round and then in the second. Bills Pre-Draft: Corner? Defensive Tackle? Receiver? - Joe DeLeone joins Adam and Sal
The Bills have their roster fairly well stocked coming out of free agency, but there are obvious needs as they look toward the draft. They could certainly use an infusion of size and athleticism at defensive tackle, and they've yet to answer the all important question as to who will start at cornerback opposite Christian Benford. GM Brandon Beane is expected to try to answer both with the draft set for next week. Draft and College Football analyst Joe DeLeone from A to Z Sports joins Adam and Sal with takes on some of the Bills likely options. Bills offseason impact, draft priorities, and rules changes; Steve Tasker joins Adam and Sal
It's been a solid offseason for the Buffalo Bills. From multiple extensions to keep their own, to some key free agent additions on both sides of the ball, to a new deal for MVP quarterback Josh Allen. As the draft approaches, they still have some needs at defensive tackle and cornerback in particular. Former Bill Steve Tasker, arguably the greatest special teams player the game has ever seen, joined Adam and Sal has he was preparing for "One Bills Live" to give takes on all of it, as well as the NFL rule change to move touchbacks out to the 35 yard line. Bills transition focus to NFL Draft after Benford Extension
The Bills continue with an impressive offseason. The latest development was the signing of top cornerback Christian Benford to a four year $76-million extension. That follows deals for WR Khalil Shakir, LB Terrel Bernard, and DE Greg Rousseau. Notably, there doesn't appear to be any progress toward a new deal for RB James Cook. GM Brandon Beane, speaking at the NFL owners meetings in Florida, says the focus has now shifted entirely to the upcoming draft. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana join with takes on all of it, and a look at some of the potential draft options for Buffalo. Bills with solid offseason work that remains far from finished
The Bills have have made some key free agent additions headlined by edge rusher Joey Bosa. They added receiver Joshua Palmer and have also tried to bolster the defensive line. With the NFL draft on the horizon, questions remain defensive tackle, and certainly at cornerback. There's also the lingering question about what to do with running back James Cook, which could very well mean nothing until the end of 2025. Adam Benigni have takes on all of it and more. The Super Bowl window remains open for the Buffalo Bills
The Bills initially got off to a slow start in free agency, and then over the past couple of days have shifted things into high gear. That includes the signing of five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Joey Bosa to a one year deal. GM Brandon Beane has largely focused on upgrading the defensive line, they've brought back safety Damar Hamlin on a one year deal, and added receiver Joshua Palmer to the offense. All of that, on top of a new six year $330-million dollar contract for MVP Josh Allen, and extensions for key players like defensive end Greg Rousseau, linebacker Terrel Bernard, and receiver Khalil Shakir. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana join with takes on all of that and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Can the Bills take that final step up to win? with Marcellus Wiley
Back in 1997, the Bills were thinking about who might eventually replace Hall of Fame defensive end Bruce Smith. They drafted Marcellus Wiley in the second round out of Columbia that year with that possibility in mind. Wiley eventually did that in 2000 when Smith moved on to Washington. He wound up playing ten seasons in the NFL for the Bills, Chargers, Cowboys, and Jaguars. He was a player that provided answers on the field, and was never at a loss for words off of it. Not surprisingly, he went on to broadcasting success with ESPN and FS1 among other outlets. He joined Adam and Sal to reflect on his time in Buffalo, that included the infamous Music City Miracle, and offer some strong takes on what it's going to take to get this current edition of the Bills over the top and into the Super Bowl. What to do with Von Miller? Bills stories from the NFL Combine
The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing in Indianapolis with the Bills and others beginning the process of change and upgrade to a roster that again fell short of the Super Bowl this season. The AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs, and Eagles Super Bowl domination of Kansas City, again underscored the need to get bigger, heavier, and stronger on the defensive line. Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane both spoke to the media, and among the obvious themes, was the need to get more production out of recent top draft picks Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid. Sal Maiorana is in Indy covering the combine for the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. He joined Adam Benigni with takes on all of this and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Bleav in Bills is BACK with another episode with Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana and this time its all about the NFL Combine. What needs does this Bills roster have to fill come the Draft in April? Or could some of those needs be better served by using free agency to fill instead? They also get into some of the tough contract decisions they will have to make this offseason including what to do with James Cook, seeing as he was such an integral part of this offense. Josh Allen wins MVP; Should Bills go all-in on Myles Garrett?
Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana are back with another episode of Bleav in Bills on the heels of Josh Allen being named the Most Valuable Player in the league last night at the NFL Awards. He narrowly beat out Lamar Jackson who also had an incredible year but it was Josh at the end of the day holding the award. Season in Review: How close are the Bills to "knocking down the door?"
There's no denying the fact the Bills overachieved in many ways in 2024. They very successfully transitioned the roster, absorbed the salary cap ramifications associated with that, and wound up in the AFC Championship game. Josh Allen reached a new level at the quarterback position. Having said all of that, the postseason run ended in an all too familiar way, against an all too familiar opponent. How close are the Bills to finally advancing past the Chiefs when it matters most? What changes do they need to make to get there? Familiar Story: Chiefs top Bills 32-29 in AFC Championship game
The more things change, the more they stay the same. For all the success the Bills enjoyed this year, the Chiefs remain the postseason nemesis. Kansas City beat Buffalo 32-29 in the AFC Championship game Sunday night, as they now advance to face the Philadelphia Eagles with a chance to make history in winning a third straight Super Bowl. The Bills in the meantime fall to 0-4 in the playoffs against Kansas City in the playoffs with Sean McDermott as head coach and Josh Allen at quarterback, with many of the storylines in those losses remaining the same. AFC Championship Preview: Bills equipped to dethrone Chiefs
For all the success the Bills have had against the Chiefs during the regular season, we know the playoffs have been a different story. Simply MARV-elous! Bills Hall of Famer Marv Levy joins Adam and Sal ahead of AFC title game
Where would you rather be than right here... right now? Words made famous by Bills Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy. Words that are still embraced by the team and the fanbase today as they prepare to face the Chiefs in the AFC title game on Sunday. Levy was last and only head coach to lead the Bills to the Super Bowl and he of course did it four years in a row in the early 90's. Marv and his wife Fran joined Adam and Sal from their home in Chicago to share thoughts and reflect. The evolution of Josh Allen and the Bills as they prepare for return to Arrowhead and AFC title matchup with Chiefs
For the fourth time in five years, the Bills are set to face the Chiefs in the postseason. It will be the second time they've met in the AFC Championship game. Thus far, the regular season success Buffalo has enjoyed against Kansas City, hasn't translated to the postseason. Sean McDermott, Josh Allen, and the Bills are 0-3 in the playoffs against KC. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana share takes on how and why this time could, and in some ways, should be different. Bills top Ravens 27-25 - Advance to face Chiefs in AFC title game
The Bills defense took the ball away three times while Josh Allen and the offense had success with a relatively conservative game plan, and Buffalo knocked off the Baltimore Ravens 27-25 in an AFC Divisional playoff Sunday night. Luck was also on the Bills side as tight end Mark Andrews dropped would should have been an easy two point conversion to tie the game and force overtime. The Bills advance to once again face the Kansas City Chiefs, this time back in the conference championship game for the first time since 2020. Lamar Jackson vs. Josh Allen: How Sunday's divisional playoff goes well beyond the QB match-up with guest Matt Simms
Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson were drafted on the same night back in 2018, and have evolved into two of the game's absolute elite that help define this generation at the position. The match-up between the two is the obvious headline heading into Sunday's divisional playoff between the Bills and Ravens. Having said that, the outcome will likely have more to do with how these rosters have been constructed. Former NFL quarterback Matt Simms, who was briefly with Buffalo in 2015, joined Adam and Sal for a game preview. Raven Reviews: How the Bills can overcome the challenge of facing Baltimore - Jerry Ostroski joins Adam and Sal to preview divisional playoff
It seems so long ago, but the highlights have again surfaced this week of Baltimore's dominant 35-10 win over the Bills back in week four. So much has changed since then as they prepare for Sunday night's divisional playoff in Orchard Park. The Bills are much healthier on defense, and have evolved to a great degree on the offensive side. The Ravens present the challenge of dealing with the combo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry on offense, and have improved greatly on defense, especially in the secondary during the season. Former Bills offensive lineman Jerry Ostroski joined Adam and Sal to preview the match-up from a player perspective. Bills pull away for Wild Card win 31-7 over Broncos setting up Divisional round game against Ravens
EAfter falling behind on an early Denver touchdown, the Bills reeled off 31 unanswered points to beat the Broncos 31-7 in an AFC Wild Card match-up Sunday in Orchard Park. Josh Allen threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns, while James Cook rushed for 120 yards on 23 carries, showing the tremendous offensive balance that's led to so much success this season. The Bills defense limited rookie QB Bo Nix and Denver went just 2 of 9 on third down which has been a problem area for Buffalo this season. Broncos vs. Bills playoff preview with guest Tyler Sullivan of cbssports.com
Simply put it's a game the Bills should win. MVP favorite Josh Allen and the high powered Bills offense at home where they were undefeated during the regular season, and opposite him a rookie in Denver's Bo Nix. Denver's defense however, brings an added layer of talent and interest. They posted a franchise record 63 sacks this season. Bills drop meaningless season finale at New England, prepare for Broncos in Wild Card round
he Bills had already secured the No. 2 seed in the AFC, and so there was little meaning to a 23-16 loss to the Patriots and Foxboro to close the regular season that, oh by the way, cost New England that top overall pick in the draft and saw Jerod Mayo's time as head coach there end after one season. Josh Allen took all of one snap to extend his consecutive starts streak, with the majority of the starters sitting this one out. Josh Allen to start and play briefly vs. Pats; LB Terrel Bernard dealing with quad injury
The Bills (13-3) have secured in the No. 2 seed in the AFC heading into the regular season finale at New England. With that, comes the luxury of resting key players. Quarterback Josh Allen will start this game and play briefly so that he extends his consecutive starts streak. Linebacker Terrel Bernard (quad) was a notable addition to the injury report Wednesday raising questions and some concern that he'll be ready to start the postseason. Bills secured No. 2 seed with 40-14 blowout win over Jets
The Bills locked up the No. 2 seed in the AFC and finished undefeated at home in the regular season for the first time since 1990 with a 40-14 win over the New York Jets. Josh Allen threw for 182 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and ran for one as well. The Buffalo defense that's struggled in recent weeks scored on a safety and took the ball away three times. The Bills improve to 13-3 and now have the option to rest starters next week in the regular season finale at New England. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana have the recap from Orchard Park. Jet Set? Bills can lock in No. 2 seed with win over New York - ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg joins Adam and Sal
There's plenty at stake for the Bills (12-3) as they prepare to face the Jets (4-11) Sunday. The Chiefs have locked up the AFC's top seed, but a win secures the No. 2 seed for Buffalo. That would allow Sean McDermott to rest Josh Allen and the starters in the regular season finale at New England. Given the history against New York, this shapes up to be a competitive game that could underscore some concerns about this Bills team, and impact the MVP voting. Too close for comfort: Bills rally to beat Patriots
The Bills rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat the New England Patriots 24-21 Sunday in Orchard Park. James cook ran for 100-yards and a touchdown, and caught a TD pass as well on a day where the Bills struggled with New England's defensive scheme for a good portion of the game. After giving up 37 of the Rams 44 points in a loss on Sunday, the Buffalo defense is doing it's best to make corrections as they prepare to face Detroit (12-1) on Sunday. The Lions have the top scoring offense in the NFL (32.1ppg). Josh Allen and the Bills, coming off his historic performance in the loss to the Rams are second (30.5ppg). There was also news on the ownership front. As expected, the franchise has added ten limited partners that include former NBA stars Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, along with soccer star Jozy Altidore. Adam Benigni and Sal Maiorana put it all in perspective. Follow Adam on Twitter/X: @adambenigni Watch Adam on Sports Talk Live Buffalo Monday nights at 7:00pm on WGRZ/Channel 2. Bills defense and questionable coaching derail historic game by Josh Allen
Josh Allen has now gone where no NFL quarterback has ever gone before... Three passing and three rushing touchdowns in a single game. That's a first in NFL history. Amazingly it wasn't enough as the Bills lost 44-42 to the Rams, ending their seven game win streak and falling to 10-3 on the year and into a tie in the race for the AFC's second seed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Defense and special teams were problem areas that saw horrible execution, and questionable coaching. Sal Maiorana joined Adam Benigni live from LA postgame. Micah Hyde returns; Bills Mafia co-founder Del Reid joins Adam and Sal
The Bills are bringing back veteran safety Micah Hyde for the stretch run and post season. The team announced Wednesday that they've signed Hyde to the practice squad. Hyde was so much a part of the team's success since Sean McDermott brought him in along with Jordan Poyer in 2017. His contract expired at the end of last season, and he now comes back at a time when the team is 10-2 and setting up for what looks like the unfinished business of a Super Bowl run. Bills Mafia has been so much a part of the story through the years, and is now reaching another peak with the success and interest in the team. Bills Mafia co-founder Del Reid joined Adam with Sal for takes on what's happening on the field, in the stands, and in the community.
