I am a professional women's rugby player for the USA Women's Eagles Sevens team. I am originally from South Carolina, and attended college at The University of North Carolina, where I graduated in 2016. I began my rugby career playing for UNC in 2012. I began playing for the Eagles since 2016. I currently reside in Chula Vista California, where I train at the Olympic Training Center. For the 2018-2019 season, the Eagles qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which I will be competing in beginning at the end of July. The Eagles placed second for the year long tournament among our international peers. In the final leg of the tournament, in Biarritz France, we took home the gold medal for that leg of the tournament, beating the New Zealand Black Ferns in the gold medal match. At the moment, we are number 1 in the world after our first tournament of the season in Colorado. I currently hold the title of All Time Leading Try Scorer for the Women's Eagles Sevens Team, with 80 tries in my career. During her tenure as President and COO, Johnson has already helped the Sparks lead the league in corporate sponsorship dollars earned, and oversaw the team's signing of the largest community-based partnership in WNBA history with the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and California Mental Health Services Authority. The year-long campaign, called Spark The True You, is centered around spotlighting military women and their families and raising awareness about mental health. Under her leadership, the Sparks have increased media coverage and social media engagement which helped lead to a Home Opener that drew over 12,000 fans to Staples Center. In addition, Johnson has represented the Sparks with public appearances at South by Southwest and the Sports Business Journal's 2019 CAA World Congress of Sports. In her prior role with the Sparks, Johnson helped launch the year-long #WeAreWomen campaign, which culminated in selling out all three levels of Staples Center, a historic attendance of 19,000. Overall, ticket sales increased by 50 percent during her tenure, setting the stage for the Sparks leading the league in attendance in 2017 and 2018. In addition, Johnson implemented the Sparks annual marketing campaigns and launched a community busing program to transport underserved communities to Sparks games. Johnson got her start in sports management as an intern with the Fayetville Patriots, the first NBA G League team, eventually being hired full-time with the organization. Johnson then helped launch multiple sports franchises including the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA G League and the Tulsa Shock of the WNBA when they moved from Detroit. Johnson developed a reputation for being a top seller and went on to finish second in the WNBA in ticket sales with the Phoenix Mercury in 2008. About Keturah "KO" Orji Olympic triple jumper Keturah "KO" Orji is a four-time USA champion and one of the most prominent young stars in track and field. After finishing fourth at the 2016 Olympic Games at age 20, KO has an opportunity to become the first American woman to win a medal in the triple jump event at the 2020 Olympics. KO is a 2018 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she won 8 NCAA titles (7 in the triple jump, 1 in the long jump), set two NCAA records, received the prestigious Bowerman Award (the highest honor in collegiate track and field), and earned recognition as the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year, a distinction given to one graduating senior selected from all sports and divisions of college athletics. Amidst all of these accolades, KO maintained a 3.97 GPA. As a student-athlete, KO formed a mentorship program called Amara's Pride for eighth grade girls from low-income backgrounds, which she still runs. KO now competes professionally as a triple jumper and long jumper for Atlanta Track Club while pursuing a graduate degree in Sports Management at the University of Georgia.
