Show Notes
Since 1996, the Football Association has mandated that every young professional footballer in England undergoes cardiac screening. In this podcast, Dr Aneil Malhotra, lead author on the recent NEJM paper which reported the outcomes of the FA’s screening programme, discusses the implications of the research and what it means for screening in the future. In this conversation with Dr Sean Carmody, he also discusses other measures support staff can take to minimise the risk of sudden cardiac deaths in athletes.
