Attention drivers! US two eighty north of Jefferson and Shelby county lines will be closed for bridge demolition starting March twentieth. Eastbound lanes will remain shut until March twenty-second, while westbound lanes will reopen daily from five a.m. to eleven p.m. Plan ahead and use the detour via Lakeshore Parkway, I-65, I-459, and back onto US two eighty. This project aims to expand the highway to four lanes in each direction, improving capacity. Another closure is planned later this year, with the project set to wrap up this fall. ALDOT thanks drivers for their patience as they work to enhance road safety and efficiency.
