Bishop of Missouri Conference Suspends Minister for Working with Jeffrey Epstein: A United Methodist bishop in Missouri has suspended a minister from her clergy duties after discovering she worked for Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in jail. The minister, Reverend Stephanie Remington, served as a pastor in Missouri churches from 2001 to 2016 and remained an active elder. She worked as an administrative assistant for Epstein from August to December 2018 and as a temporary property manager on his private island from January to May 2019. Remington has not been accused of any wrongdoing and insists she never witnessed any abuse during her time there. However, she falsely reported on annual paperwork that she was in extension ministry at a seminary during that period. She is now on a 90-day suspension while the bishops office reviews the case.
