Fifty-three talented students will compete for the state champion title, with the winner earning a trip to Washington D.C. for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The event is sponsored by the Alabama Kiwanis Foundation and Scripps, and is open to families, teachers, and school administrators. Limited seating is available, so check-in starts at 10 a.m. and the bee begins at noon.
