After months of closure, the new Pump House Road Bridge over US two eighty is reopening to traffic, marking the first phase of a major widening project between Homewood and Interstate four fifty-nine. The bridge will handle the heavy traffic load better in the long run. The old bridge will be demolished with nighttime lane closures from March 8th to 12th and March 15th to 19th, with a full closure from March 20th to 22nd. The entire widened highway is expected to open by October 1st.
