Major John Alex Klinner, a 33-year-old major from the ninety-ninth Air Refueling Squadron, tragically lost his life in a plane crash in Iraq on March twelfth. His remains will return to Birmingham this Saturday for a dignified transfer ceremony. A public memorial service is scheduled for Monday at eleven a.m. at First Baptist Church in Trussville, where Klinner resided. He leaves behind his wife Libby and their three young children. The crash also claimed two more from his squadron and three Ohio National Guard members. The community is uniting to honor Klinners courage and celebrate his legacy as a true hero. Flags will be lowered statewide on Monday to honor all six service members.
