Dr. Deborah Edwards Barnhart, a trailblazer in Huntsvilles aerospace scene, passed away at seventy-three. She served as CEO Emerita of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, leading it for nine years and achieving record attendance during her final year. Barnhart, who spent nearly forty years at the center, boosted finances, morale, and championed young people in science. She also held vice president roles at three defense companies and received NASAs highest civilian award. In her memory, the center established the Dr. Deborah Edwards Barnhart Endowed Scholarship.
