They also talk about career progression and the role that people management plays in becoming a good business owner.

- To be a good business owner, you have to be constantly investing in learning new things. Joel makes an argument that an entrepreneur should continue learning and spending on gaining more knowledge in their respective field.
- Know your worth as an entrepreneur. When changing jobs, aim for a position higher than your previous one. Joel mentions that when he left his initial job, he told his new employer that he doesn't want to be his employee but rather a partner in his business because of his worth. The employer agreed and Joel went on to help the business generate three times its previous revenue.
- Handling a business isn't just about profit but also being able to manage people. Joel says you can't be a successful entrepreneur if you don't develop the ability to manage your part of the business as well as that of others under you.
