- Derral decided that he needed to write a book in order to help people make content how he wanted to. He realized that, to do this, he needed case studies, and who better than his clients and his students? From this, he won the Wall Street Journal Best Seller.
- There is a system to how success on YouTube is made, and those that say there are hacks or shortcuts to doing it are completely wrong. When Derral mentors people, he admits that he is quite blunt when they think this way, because if they’re confusing hacks with the actual lessons he’s put in place, then they’re not actually learning anything.
- When it comes to success, trust your instincts, and don’t get too bogged down in the specifics. But make sure you’re also listening to as many opinions as you can - just because someone has the credentials of something you need, you should never underestimate the value of an outside perspective.
