Prayer is vital when studying the Bible. Too often we "read over" passages we don't understand. We are God's creation and He wants us to know His will. But, will we choose to pray for His understanding and then our obedience?

We are like most people. We studied the bible to benefit ourselves. Our lives dramatically changed when we started to study to OBEY GOD. Christ laid down His will for God's will. Will we? (sorry for the pun).
God will show us His purpose for our lives and give us the power to obey. Our lives will radically transform into becoming a disciple. A disciple is one who obeys the word of God. When you study, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you. Here is a promise in 1 John 2:27 "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him."
