This week, our spotlight is on the culturally and historically rich community of Chinatown — and who better to tell us about this amazing neighborhood than the equally amazing David Lei? In April of 2021, the Beyond The Fog Radio team had the honor to speak to Mr. Lei, a retired social worker and businessman who currently works with various nonprofit organizations to promote community-building, youth education, and the arts. He is an active participant within the Chinese Performing Arts Foundation, the Asian Art Museum, the Chinese-American Community Fund, Chung Ngai Dance Troupe, the Academy of Chinese Performing Arts, the World Arts West San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, the Bancroft Library, and the Center for Asian American Media — and a tried-and-true San Franciscan and wonderful human being.
