Deanna is a makeup artist who has been based in NYC for the last 20 years. Deanna’s work can be seen throughout fashion magazines, on the runway, and some familiar faces such as Natasha Lyonne, Olivia Wilde, Anna Paquin. Deanna discusses her struggle with bulimia and her journey to recovery, the missing link to eating disorders in our society, working in the fashion industry as a makeup artist, and how she turned to meditation, art, and music to heal. Bridgett and Deanna talk about life with retouching and constant filters, and how it is causing a serious body dysmorphia problem for our children. They also discuss the power of sharing our stories and spreading awareness, bringing more positivity into the fashion industry, and what we can do as artists to help and support one another on these subjects.
