Johannesburg Emergency Management Services Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi has condemned a viral video circulating on social media showing learners apparently inhaling contents from a fire
extinguisher. Smoking or deliberately inhaling the contents of a Fire Extinguisher is extremely dangerous and can lead to serious health issues, including respiratory distress, seizures and potentially death. Parents are urged to educate their children about the dangers of
inhaling fire extinguisher contents.
Who do we blame when learners misbehave in this manner? Is it their upbringing, their parents, guardians, the schools, or even their surroundings?
At which point do the learners take accountability for their actions?
