Show Notes
Professor Alistair Sproul is the Head of the School of Photovoltaic & Renewable Energy Engineering at UNSW. A globally recognised leader in his field, he's been working in renewable energy and energy efficiency for nearly 40 years.
In this episode, we discuss why the political messaging around the energy transition timeline is wildly off the mark. While major parties debate slow-crawling policies, the laws of physics and the hard facts of economics are driving a change much faster than many imagine.
Alistair shares Australia’s incredible history as a solar pioneer, explains why coal and gas are becoming "expensive old cars" prone to breaking down, and highlights the massive economic opportunity Australia has to lead the world in green energy exports.
