My lifelong friend and mentor Richard Saunders shares how living a principle-based life has been the foundation of his happiness and success. Rich is the Interim Executive Director of the Utah Department of Health. Saunders graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in organizational behavior then spent 25 years as a private sector entrepreneur.
In March of 2020, Saunders was appointed Chief Deputy for the Utah Department of Health, once it became clear the COVID-19 pandemic response could benefit greatly from his expert organizational skills. Saunders loves the goodness in people and finds much of his personality is fed by being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful landscapes Utah has to offer. He is married to his amazing wife Lisa and they have five children and eight grandchildren.
