All of Israel—leaders, children, foreigners—stand before God to renew the covenant. Moses calls heaven and earth as witnesses, setting before them life and death, blessing and curse. *Nitzavim* makes it plain: choosing life means loving God, obeying His voice, and clinging to Him.
