Paul warns his protege Timothy to watch out for false teachings inspired by demons and lying spirits...and then he proceeds to tell Timothy what sorts of teachings that he means. While many would expect demonic teachings to be more overtly evil and awful, it turns out that the kinds of demonic teachings Paul was warning Timothy about are surprisingly mundane, but yet very, very dangerous.
