Almost two thousand years ago, James warned Christians that they don't know the future, God alone does, so we should be careful about making long term plans - we should do so with humility and understanding of God's sovereignty. Spurgeon warned his congregation of the same truths in the 1800s, and in modern times those truths are just as needed!
