Show Notes

Judit Polgár is a retired Hungarian chess player. She is considered the best female chess player in history. In 1991 she won the International Grand Master title at the age of 15 years and four months, thus becoming the youngest person to obtain that title at the time and breaking the record previously held by former World Champion Bobby Fischer. Polgár is the only woman to have made it into the top ten chess players in the world rankings. She was the number one woman in the world from January 1989 until her retirement on August 13, 2014. Polgár is the only woman to have won a match against a reigning world number-one player, and has beaten eleven current or previous world champions in fast or classic chess.
