(Nearly two-thirds of likely voters (64 percent) also said they believe illegal immigration is “a problem” in America, according to the data.
Democrat-led efforts to shut down the federal government over ICE funding to protest the Trump administration’s deportation policies similarly fared poorly among surveyed voters. The poll found that while Democrats enjoy a 4-point lead in the congressional ballot, that lead evaporates if Democrats move to “defund ICE” (R+0) and shut down the government “to defund ICE” (R+2).)
