In May 2020, Rebelo's mother, Colleen Rebelo, was found deceased in her Bicton home. Initially deemed non-suspicious, her death took a sinister turn when investigations revealed that Andre had secretly taken out three life insurance policies on his mother, totaling over $1.5 million, just days before her demise. He was the sole beneficiary of these policies.
