This week I spoke with the local legend Cannibal Cam. He does so much for the music community here in Niagara. He started off by playing in bands in the 90's, him and his co-host Metal Dan hosted the local radio show Chronic Aggression that featured all sorts of heavy acts from big to small, he runs a film company called Rabidog Films, and he's currently finishing up a death metal documentary called the Growl. Him and I had such a great conversation. We talked about being in bands in the 90's, all the different local venues that have existed over time, and a family death metal band sitcom! This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with my good friend Tyson Blaste. Him and I met because he books a lot of the heavier bands in Windsor, where he resides. He currently drums for Plague, and Trenchlung. Tyson also previously played drums for the viral sensation Grindmother, a grindcore band fronted by a 70 yr old grandmother. We had the pleasure of doing a couple weekend shows together in the past around Ontario and Quebec so we had a great time catching up. When Tyson isn't booking bands or being a road dog-he works on cars, specifically car audio. Fixing and maximizing the sound quality in all sorts of cars and even motorcycles. This week I sit down with one of the mad men behind the band Powerbomb-a wrestling themed hardcore band from the GTA. xDarrenx also plays in his project xStreetJusticex, and the band Heartless. He has also been involved in the Ontario underground heavy scene since the mid-90's.
