Balance Selections Podcast

Nicolás Ruiz emerged from Argentina’s Misiones province with a sound shaped as much by local grounding as global ambition. Releases on Renaissance, Hope Recordings and Plattenbank have placed him firmly within the progressive continuum, with support from figures like Hernán Cattaneo and Nick Warren reinforcing his steady ascent. Having shared booths with names from John Digweed to Guy J, and appearances spanning from Zurich’s Street Parade to key European showcases, Ruiz continues to refine a craft that sits comfortably between dancefloor functionality and melodic depth. On this Balance Selections mix he continues that fine form. Featuring tracks from Kasper Koman, Maze28, Juan Deminicis and more, this is two hours of well-crafted dance music. @nicolasruiz Tracklisting & interview: https://balancemusic.com.au/balance-selections-365-nicolas-ruiz ------------------------------------- Follow: Instagram: www.instagram.com/balance_series Facebook: www.facebook.com/balanceseriesmusic Youtube: www.youtube.com/@balancemusicofficial

Paul James Nolan approaches electronic music as a tool for transformation, using the booth not just to perform, but to hold space and guide a shared, immersive experience. With a background in high-end audio engineering alongside artists like Sasha and Junkie XL, his technical precision underpins a sound that feels both tactile and emotionally charged. With releases spanning Bedrock Records to When We Dip, his work is supported by artists including Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Patrice Bäumel and Tim Green. Few artists can claim to have shaped the very birth of dance music while continuing to drive its evolution over three decades. Even fewer have left their mark on both the club and pop scenes, with timeless moments that echo in conversations long after their release. Dave Seaman is undeniably one of these rare figures. We cannot wait to host Dave this August in Croatia. @daveseaman ________________________________________________ BALANCE CROATIA 2026 FULL FOUR DAY FESTIVAL TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT LIMITED DAY TICKETS REMAIN On sale now via Balance Croatia website. Giovanny Aparicio links with Olaya for ‘Eternal Grace’. Driving low-end and crisp drums form the backbone while a graceful melodic figure drifts in and out of view. The arrival of orchestral strings adds an emotional dimension, turning what could have been a straightforward club tool into something more reflective. @fernando-olaya @dj-giovanny-aparicio

On ‘You Are Sweet’, Julian Millian teams with Olaya for a darker turn. Synthetic textures circle austere drums as acid-laced synths gradually rise through the mix. The tension builds steadily before releasing in a dramatic breakdown and full-throttle drop. @fernando-olaya

Kamilo Sanclemente joins Olaya on ‘Renascence’, a Latin-flavoured outing that’s difficult to ignore. Sparkling keys and warm synths combine into a swooning melodic line, while a constantly shifting bassline keeps the track buoyant. Midway through, elegant strings lift the arrangement into something celebratory, a reminder of why progressive house continues to resonate on dancefloors worldwide. @fernando-olaya @kamilosanclemente

Sentre, the duo of Dave Gardner and Dennis White, are long-standing industry figures, known for their studio craf. With a history of collaborations alongside Sasha, including contributions to his seminal Involver album series, Sentre have built a reputation as refined producers with a detailed, emotive approach to sound design. In 2025, they returned to Last Night On Earth label with This Feeling, a collaboration with Of Norway. The release showcased their signature style: luminous melodies, celestial energy, and subtle vocal elements. On this Balance Selections mix, their penchant for interesting dance music is on full display. Featuring tracks from Tim Paris, Laurent Garnier and Zombies In Miami, this one hour mix is a fun ride through loose and rolling house. @sentre_music Tracklisting & interview: https://balancemusic.com.au/balance-selections-363-sentre/ ------------------------------------- Follow: Instagram: www.instagram.com/balance_series Facebook: www.facebook.com/balanceseriesmusic Youtube: www.youtube.com/@balancemusicofficial

‘We Were Never Lost’ opens as a delightful slice of vintage prog. A thick, enveloping bassline anchors the track, providing a reassuring familiarity. A ghostly vocal drifts across the groove while a melody slowly takes shape in the background, swelling through the breakdown before resolving in a euphoric main-room drop. @fernando-olaya

Hailing from Australia and now based in Berlin, Leah Marie is part of a new wave of artists shaping the deeper end of the electronic spectrum. Her sound moves between deep, progressive and melodic house, with a touch of cerebral techno; built on groove, restraint and a strong sense of space. In the booth, she favours flow over flash, guiding sets with careful pacing and an instinct for atmosphere. Her productions and remixes have found a home on labels include Mango Alley to Musique de Lune Noir, with further releases on the horizon. Along the way, she’s taken that sound beyond Berlin, playing across Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands and the UK. In 2025, she co-founded Kontrast. with Dilby and Dowden: a Berlin-based event centred on the deeper, groove-led corners of house music. The next edition lands at Hotel Amano East Rooftop on Saturday 11th April (more info here). On this Balance Selections mix, the rising producer displays a taste for a wide-ranging sound. Featuring tracks from Timo Maas, Patrice Baumel, Chus & Ceballos and more, this is a two-hour mix that evolves with patience and intent. @leahmariemusic-australia Tracklisting & interview: balancemusic.com.au/balance-selections-362-leah-marie ------------------------------------- Follow: Instagram: www.instagram.com/balance_series Facebook: www.facebook.com/balanceseriesmusic Youtube: www.youtube.com/@balancemusicofficial

For more than 15 years, Of Norway has been the joint project of Vegard “Lil’ Wolf” Dyvik and Christian Steenstrup. Emerging from Oslo’s fertile underground, the duo have developed a sound that sits somewhere between house, electro, techno and dub, often coloured by darker textures and leftfield influences. Their productions move comfortably between warm, hypnotic grooves and colder, more atmospheric terrain, drawing on everything from disco and electro to industrial and experimental sounds. Their most recent release on Last Night On Earth alongside Sentre, encapsulates their sound: fun, care-free dance music that never takes itself too serious. That ability to produce a variegated sound has seen their music picked up by DJs across a wide spectrum, with support from Dixon to Sasha to Timo Maas and more. On this Balance Selections mix, the duo stay true to form with a playful one-hour session. Featuring tracks from Eden Burns, Mark Henning, Tata Box Inhibitors and more, the mix connects classic and contemporary cuts with an ease that never feels forced. @of-norway Tracklisting & interview: balancemusic.com.au/balance-selections-360-of-norway ------------------------------------- Follow: Instagram: www.instagram.com/balance_series Facebook: www.facebook.com/balanceseriesmusic Youtube: www.youtube.com/@balancemusicofficial
