Show Notes
Bakersfield residents receive extended time to comment on proposed sewer rate increases due to a mailing glitch. Around 30,000 out of 100,000 accounts missed the initial Proposition 218 notice. Two public hearings are scheduled for April 22nd and May 13th. The error, caused by a computer issue, affected zip codes 93311, 93312, and 93313. City Manager Christian Clegg assures that the team has resent the notices. Residents without a notice should contact the Bakersfield Utilities Department. Deadlines are now extended to May 13th for fair consideration of all protests.
