Guernsey’s relationship with cannabis is complicated. While the CBD and THC industry was heralded to be major economic enabler for the islander, legal redtape has ended up strangling it at birth.
Major industry bodies have moved off island, taking their business with them; meanwhile, the island’s budding medicinal cannabis market continues to morph into a multi-million pound enterprise.
With concerns about diverted prescriptions continually being raised, and an island now flooded with cannabis, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what is going on.
Deputy Marc Leadbeater is a member of HSC and figurehead in the cannabis industry, he sat down with me to clear up the myths around cannabis and share his positive thoughts for the future…
