Mark Cobden is drunk. Again. But this time he gets into his car and drives off. Moments later he hits and kills a cyclist. Criminal psychologist Dr Julia Shaw, comedian Sofie Hagen and the Bafta and Emmy-winning writer Jimmy McGovern discuss what makes dangerous driving a relatable crime. Mark did not mean to hurt anyone, so does he belong in prison? And if so, what sort of prison? McGovern shares details about the production and follows up on how he understands the motivations of his characters, the stories that lead them to crime and their guilt and atonement. And, McGovern speaks about how his own life and harsh childhood growing up in Liverpool, informs his writing.
