Deliver Us (Isaiah 7:14, 9:1-7; 11:1-5; 53)
God's final answer to his people's cry, "Deliver us!" was a baby boy in Bethlehem who is God's presence with his people (Isaiah 7:14), God's king over his people (Isaiah 9:1-7), God's prophet to his people (Isaiah 11:1-5), and God's priest for his people (Isaiah 53). "Why lies he in such mean estate, where ox and lamb are feeding? Good Christian, fear, for sinners here the silent Word is pleading Nails, spear shall pierce him through, the cross be born for me, for you Hail, hail, the Word made flesh, the babe, the son of Mary."
