Roland Wolf is someone I know from a while back before "B The Trader" show even started. I met Roland back in the 2017-2018 time frame when he started his stride in finding consistency. He was still new but was definitely a rising star in the long-bias trading realm. Matti O joins me today or some of you might know him as Triforce Trader. We dive into his journey to his consistency and how he discovered and became focused on algorithmic trading also known as quant trading. This episode was very fun for me because I have no clue about this topic and yet I found myself very interested in it right away. Trading already is difficult because we need to find out what works, eliminate what doesn't, deal with our emotions, discipline, and etc.. Phil has been on the show before on S3E19. Today he joins us to discuss the topic of eliminating bad habits; how do we identify bad habits and what we can do to stop them from coming up. The goal is not to eliminate them completely because we are human but to understand how to mitigate the risk by lowering the frequency. Today I wanted to share with you the challenges I face sometimes in my day trading especially during moments of no setups. I have been doing well for the month of September 2020 of not placing boredom trades however I slipped today into trading a stock that was not part of my day trading playbook. This will happen, in fact, it happens to the best of us like Tim Grittani, Nate Michaud, Steven Dux, and many more. The difference is, they recognize it, and get right back on the horse and continue to move forward. The market changes like the weather, we go through cycles, summer, spring, winter, well you get the point. Instead of change in temperature though, the stock market changes in volatility and today I wanted to share with you how I approach the market during slow volatile times...in other words, when it's boring. Many new beginning day traders who are interested in the markets but haven't had time to see the different cycles will go through periods of frustration due to having a "setup" work for some time and then out of nowhere it doesn't. What tends to happen for beginner traders is they then get frustrated and trade everything and bleed out their entire day trading account. In a world of trading reviews of "Gurus/Furus" who get their students to share a review on their services and coaching techniques, I decided to be the "third-party" and give you authentic reviews from real day traders who are still in services or experienced services. This way you can get their point of view on different gurus and decide for yourself if you should go the same route or a different one. I have always felt like this world of "Gurus' is so inauthentic when it comes to reviews because they always either pay for a review, have their students do one by reading a script, or just have their "successful student" do it...just doesn't seem legit. Let's change it! Here we go!

Taking profits in day trading can be a challenge for some and for the ones who can actually make a consistent profit the challenge slowly becomes how can they increase their profits? One way I have been focusing on lately is the 3R rule. Today I will be sharing what that rule is and how it can help you increase gains.

We are all looking for a pattern that will make us successful but I am willing to bet most of us are not focusing on the most important pattern... I am here to show you what pattern is the most important to master so you can get on the right track towards consistently profitable, Yourself.

Making money in day trading is super easy, I mean we all see the promoters, gurus, teachers, furus, advertisers, and heck some are KIDS showing off their cars, houses, etc... and make you feel like "man, if they can make it, I can too!" I feel the same sometimes, and when we see $10,000 dollars made in a single day trade we are impressed and would love to duplicate it. I'm here to challenge this thinking, to challenge how you been "Trained" through the media to think. Please listen.

When you hear "Consistently profitable" what do you think? Is it a millionaire day trader? Someone who is making consistent profits in the past week, month, quarter? Or is it someone who has been consistent for a year or more? What you perceive as consistent is an important question to ask yourself because it will change how you view yourself and the challenges you face as you go on your trading journey.

Day trading and losses go hand in hand. If your a trader of any sort then you will take losses, and sometimes many in a row before you get out of a rut. I am sharing some of the ideas I am implementing during this losing streak I am in that I know will make an impact on my trading.

Day trading is a difficult journey and taking losses is one of the hardest parts of this game. When you are working on your consistency and have found the one strategy that you are good at and want to focus on, you will sometimes face a challenge of no trades available or taking a loss on the one signal you get for the entire day....so nothing else to do.... Today I had this experience where I have one set up that showed up today and nothing more...and took a loss and had no chance of making it back.

Steven Dux is a successful day trader who made his millions from penny stock shorting. He started slightly over PDT and worked his way to success through hours of studying, spreadsheets, and mastering his psychology. He understands where he is weak and eliminates reasons for his weakness to show, something I am starting to notice with a lot of successful traders.

Chat rooms are where I got started, I joined a service, watched video lessons, and did this over and over and over again, with different services...Over time I have discovered for myself, what the pros and cons are. I want to share with you my personal opinion on chatrooms, what I learned from them, and what you personally should think about before you join one.

Carl Fred joins me today on B The Trader to discuss many different topics of trading like journaling, mindset, FOMO, taking breaks, and learning's from my many interviews with other traders.

I like to stay in my own trading lane, in fact, most of the people I interview are so kind to offer me assistance in learning what they are good at and I respectfully decline because I know what works for me and want to become better at that. Somewhere along the way I got off track for a bit and started to branch out into other different trading styles...now this did help me learn more about who I am as a trader and I also picked up some valuable skills along the way of trying something new. Now I am doing well again because I am back to what I am good at, and so I wanted to share the ideas or steps I am taking to stay on track.

Phil Goedeker is a full-time day trader who is also well known in twitter and the trading community as OzarkTrades, however, his old account got hacked and is no longer active. Phil has been trading for 15 years and when he started he was completely on his own, no classes or courses were available at the time. He started out longing stocks for 2 years with no consistency and eventually, he learned he can short stocks. Today Phil Soley focuses on shorting stocks and in this interview he shares some of his thoughts around finding success in day trading.

As a day trader you will find many days where you go "AHA now I get it!" and this happens often, in fact, I believe it will always happen no matter where you are in your day trading career. You can sometimes forget what the "Aha" moments were when we have found success. Success is such a loaded word too, I mean consistently profitable. I don't care how much money that is for you or john doe, but consistency is the goal. Anyway, I wanted to share with you the top "Aha" moments that helped me become consistently profitable

Mike Huddie is a day trader who started out with Tim Sykes and once he found his niche, "overextended plays" he stuck with it and became a profitable trader. He has had his fair share of mess-ups and he even shares some of the new ideas he is starting to implement into his trading today to help him get better. He has found it hard to size up recently due to a bigger than normal loss that he took after getting over-confident. Now it is difficult for him to get back to the size he was once at. This episode will have you thinking of how you can overcome some of your fears of sizing in a different way. I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you learned from this episode.

After interviewing Seven Points Capital Krishna Joshi and Stan Gluzman, I asked Stan who he felt would be a good guest for the show and he recommended I reach out to up and comer Peter Skalon, a fairly newer member of the Seven Points Capital Team and a consistently profitable trader. His story and how he become profitable is one you want to listen to because I feel you will be able to relate. Especially when he talks about sizing when your just getting started.

Learning to trust your gut as a trader is something I am starting to learn more and more. I mean trusting your gut in life is something I have learned from as well and I guess I shouldn't be surprised it is the same in trading. In this episode I share with you all how my progress has been in May since I decided to trust my gut and pursue this new style of trading...Price action/momentum. I am happy to say there has been great progress so far. I have found myself making most of my return on longing trade setups on occasion which is something I have never done before and some days where I both short and long the same ticker. I will discuss with you the feeling I have been having while trading this new way and how it has created a sense of openness.

Dr. Brett Steenbarger is the author of one of my favorite books "The Daily Trading Coach". He coaches/mentors top traders in several different prop firms including SMB Capital. He is a trader himself, and a clinical psychology professor. You will have plenty of takeaways in this episode so be sure to get a pen and paper.

My trading has been improving week by week, month by month and when you're doing well you want to push it, grow your account even more, and size up. This is exactly what I was doing for a while now and then May hit me...I started to realize that the patterns I was using were not working well. I am coming off of a great March and April...however, the market will always humble us. On day one of May I hit my stop loss...my new MAX LOSS because I sized up again...This was frustrating, to say the least. Then the following week has been very choppy...and ended up being a scratch week. Here are my thoughts on how trading has been during these frustrating times.

I first saw Scott Elliott on SMB Capitals Youtube. Mike Bellafiore brought him on to discuss his recent blow-up of 100k on one trade. All of his hard work for months was wiped away in one trade. He was very open with Mike and shared his story with him which I felt took a strong person to do so. I knew I wanted to bring him on B The Trader right away to dive deeper into his story and learn even more lessons from his trade. I feel we can all learn from this episode and I can't wait for you to watch it.

This episode is one I didn't think I would ever make. So many people doubted me and use to laugh when I would be happy about making $50 or $100 for the entire month. They would say things like "Wow, that's it?" and wouldn't understand the hard work would eventually grow into more. Well in this episode I share with you an update on my progress along with a little celebration of finally making a salary I can live on. I am very proud of this and will continue to grow and work on my craft. Been enjoying this journey and sharing it with you all.
