The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has declared that the titles of “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix” are not appropriate titles for Mary because they run the risk of eclipsing the role Jesus plays in our salvation, and could cause confusion in dialogue between Catholics and non-Catholics.
