The Nissan Z is a far cry from the 240Z of old. While it is technically superior to the 240Z of the 1970s, it is dramatically more expensive, even when you account for inflation. The Z was supposed to be an affordable everyman's sportscar. Yet, the new Z's price competes with the Supra, Corvette, and entry level Porsches. Jim Miller and I talk about why that pricing has lead to an early demise of the car, and Nissan's decision to make it an "order-only" vehicle.
