Today’s Jargon is Distractor! When beginning to teach using the principles of ABA, it is common to use errorless learning, teaching one target at a time, and only presenting the target as a choice. Eventually a therapist will present wrong choices as well as the right choice. The wrong choices are distractors and help to ensure the student can discriminate between the target and other choices.
