Gus Malzahn will not say it, but his quarterback battle is down to two players: redshirt freshman Joey Gatewood and true freshman Bo Nix. Three Auburn quarterbacks had fantastic performances at the A-Day scrimmage Saturday, but our sources have long told us — and they repeated again — the quarterback battle is down to two men. Keith Niebuhr, Jason Caldwell and Brandon Marcello break down the performances of Nix and Gatewood, their improvement over the years since high school, and why they expect both quarterbacks to possibly play in the season opener Aug. 31 against Oregon. Yes, we're more than four months away, but the picture already appears to be clearing up.
