On this week's episode of Artist Friendly, Joel Madden is joined by Dexter Holland of The Offspring.
The Offspring have been kicking around for four decades, but the band are celebrating a major milestone this year — the 30th anniversary of their mainstream triumph Smash, which remains the biggest-selling rock album released on an indie label.
In a similar vein as Dookie, punk purists disregarded the band when they signed to Columbia following its release, but they’ve only grown in stature over the years.
Now, the Orange County vets are readying their 11th studio album, Supercharged (out Oct. 11), which was produced by Bob Rock and continues their streak of writing punk hits.
