ELaurie Garner, widely known as Laurie G-Force, is a powerhouse of the Atlanta creative scene whose influence spans over four decades of music and film. A true multi-hyphenate, Garner has maintained a career that is equally fertile in both music and film. Film & Art Direction Since entering the industry in the late 1980s, Laurie has become a respected fixture in major film and television. Her expertise in the art department is seen in global hits like The Hunger Games and The Vampire Diaries. Beyond art direction, she is a prolific director of independent films and music videos, frequently collaborating with her long-term partner Chris Mills and composer Mauricio Carey to bring her visual stories to life. Musical Legacy Laurie’s musical roots are deeply embedded in Atlanta’s history: Punk Era: She performed and recorded with the reunited early 80s punk band Vietnam, playing alongside local legends like Stan Satin, Ken Schenck, David Watkins and David Dean. Indie Rock: In the 90s, she was a part of the original line up of BabyFat (later Ultra BabyFat) with Shonali Bhowmik and Michelle DuBois, a group that remains a staple of the era's indie scene. G-Force: Today, she continues to release music and scores under the name Laurie G-Force, blending her gritty punk foundations with modern atmospheric sounds solo, with Tiger Saucer and Sweetheart.
