No Tea No Shade Drag Is Only Part Of What They Do Author Kennedy Ann Scott
"No Tea, No Shade is an essential read for anyone who has searched for a way to feel like themselves." - BooklistIntimate, hilarious, and inspiring essays by celebrated drag queens Kennedy Ann Scott, Lagoona Bloo, Alexis Michelle, Olivia Lux, Julie J., and Nina West.No Tea, No Shade is a collective anthem written by six drag queens who believe in equality, peace, and in a world that loves and respects all people. The defiant legacy of drag will endure fearmongering and hate because their hearts have endured the unthinkable, their courage has been relentlessly tested, and to be blunt, they have the balls to prevail. When these gorgeous queens wear a stunning gown with picture perfect makeup, haters label them as inappropriate and unlawful. They are entertainers not predators. Drag is an art of self-expression that, at its core, affirms and uplifts LGBTQIA+ people. No Tea, No Shade features thirty essays discussing:. Social activism, Drag Story Hour, and education.. Coming out, gender, and equality.. Relationships, setting goals, and rejection.. Celebrating womanhood, family, and image.. Kennedy Ann Scott was awarded Teacher of the Year in Nashville, Tennessee. Lagoona Bloo starred on the Off-Broadway hit Drag: the Musical, and Alex Michaels received a stellar review from the New York Times for their role in La Cage Aux Falles at Barrington Stage Company. Olivia Lux starred in Rent and Kinky Boots. Julie J raised more than $100,000 for trans and LGBTQIA+ organizations. Nina West received an honorary doctorate in May 2024 and is a well-known entertainer, having worked with everyone from Glenn Close to Kermit the Frog.Despite the pervasive danger of being authentic and real, these drag artists have chosen to fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. They remind us that a person's identity shouldn't be marginalized to genitals. Identity categories are not as important as we have been led to believe, and the shade casted on drag is just a scapegoat. It is a distraction political figures and trolls use to lure people away from caring about serious issues like equality, gun violence, poverty, and racism. No Tea, No Shade shines a light on a community of people who are paving the way for a better world and holding the light for others to step up.KENNEDY ANN SCOTT BIO Kennedy Ann Scott is the stage name of Benjamin Slinkard. Benjamin is a Blue Ribbon Teacher and has been awarded Teacher of the Year for his service as an educator for Metro Public Schools. He has been recognized by the Nashville community as a top performer and claims residency at the Lipstick Lounge. He has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine and the New York Times. He Did What Nobody Else Tried To Start Federico Manchetti The Geek Of Chic
“Federico has made it alone, imagining much and working more, arriving from Ravenna, where he was born, to become part of King Charles III’s task force.… Those who want to break the mold have to take risks, swim against the tide, walk untrodden paths.”—Giorgio Armani, from the foreword to The Geek of Chic. At the start of the 21st century, shopping online was still a futuristic fantasy. There was no Facebook, there were no iPhones. And yet, in the spring of 2000, Federico Marchetti invented one of the world’s first platforms for online sales—and started a company that would revolutionize the luxury fashion sector. In THE GEEK OF CHIC: An American Dream, Italian Style (Post Hill Press; September 9, 2025; ISBN: 9798895650608; $18.99; 288 pages; Original Trade Paperback), international fashion business and tech icon Federico Marchetti, (with a foreword by Giorgio Armani), shares his engaging, honest and passionate memoir that reveals how he morphed from a geeky kid in the sleepy seaside town of Ravenna, Italy to a pioneer in online retail, offering practical advice for entrepreneurs and inspiration for visionaries and big dreamers. The Geek of Chic explains the present and future of Marchetti’s life, including working on His Majesty King Charles III’s service as Chair of The Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Fashion Task Force, which includes brands such as Chloé, Armani, Burberry, Cucinelli, Stella McCartney, and Prada. In a sector known for individualism, Marchetti is uniting global luxury groups around a common goal of shifting towards a circular industry that is climate-conscious and nature-positive. The King of England now considers Marchetti his consigliere on matters of regenerative fashion and digital innovation, collaborating on several initiatives and projects. Unfolding against a backdrop of famed vistas—Milan, Lake Como, Venice, England’s Royal Palace, New York City, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai—and featuring encounters with notables from Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos to Giorgio Armani and Anna Wintour, The Geek of Chic’s message is relevant to a new generation of entrepreneurs who wish to combine innovation, business acumen, and AI with humanism, creativity and empathy: how to achieve the American dream in an Italian way. Penetrating The Cartel And Living To Tell The Tales Inside The Cartel From Martin Suarez And Ian Frisch
How an Undercover FBI Agent Smuggled Cocaine, Laundered Cash, and Dismantled a Colombian Narco EmpireDey Street is proud to publish INSIDE THE CARTEL: How an Undercover FBI Agent Smuggled Cocaine, Laundered Cash, and Dismantled a Colombian Narco-Empire. This groundbreaking memoir offers an unprecedented, pulse-pounding glimpse into the covert world of Colombian drug cartels through the eyes of legendary FBI agent Martin Suarez. Widely regarded among FBI agents as the greatest undercover agent of all time, Suarez holds the record for the longest continuous undercover run - an astonishing 23 years. Now, the details behind his unparalleled achievements are being revealed for the first time. In 2019, after being diagnosed with ALS, Suarez made the decision to finally tell his story - from secret operations and daring air drops at sea to a harrowing showdown with a cartel assassin in his own backyard. With his future uncertain, he partnered with author and esteemed journalist Ian Frisch to craft this gripping, cinematic memoir.Suarez is known for achieving the unimaginable. As the only undercover FBI agent to have infiltrated a Colombian drug cartel, he courageously lived a double life as 'Manny' within the cartel's treacherous corridors, smuggled $1 billion worth of cocaine into the U.S., and laundered over $50 million for the North Coast Cartel. His fearless and strategic operations also led to the exposure of the infamous Black Market Peso Exchange, a financial web that implicates individuals at the highest echelons of power, and thrusted billionaire bankers and high-ranking businessmen into the spotlight. Beyond the high-stakes missions, Martin's story is also a deeply personal one, as he struggled to balance his covert life with being a devoted husband, father, and son-all while the cartel's threats crept dangerously close to home. This book is unlike any other about the criminal underworld and is an essential read for those drawn to true crime stories, the intricacies of undercover operations, and the ongoing battle against international drug trafficking. Told with the pulse-racing action of a Hollywood blockbuster, INSIDE THE CARTEL is a book that should not be missed this fall.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Re-Inventing College Is A Higher Education A Sound Investment Arthur Levine Uncovers Each New Layer
Higher education is at a turning point. The current model of higher education was built for the industrial era and needs to be transformed, according to Arthur Levine, author of the previously published The Great Upheaval: Higher Education’s Past, Present, and Uncertain Future. He has a new book coming out in spring 2026. He is not promoting either book at this time. Nationally known educational thought leader and Brandeis University President Arthur Levine has been at the forefront of the changing role of higher education. He argues that in the next 20 years, college will be reinvented. Consumers of higher education will determine what higher education will be, and that every institution will have to change. All colleges—especially liberal arts colleges —need to be more closely tied to the needs of the workplace and must change traditional structures, curricula, programs, degree offerings, teaching methods, career education, and student support systems. The proposed changes address concerns of both parents and the needs of employers—finding workers whose skills match what they need.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Separation Between Church And Hate The New Book From Comedian John Fugelsang
"John Fugelsang nails this in his book, Separation of Church and Hate: The Bible says in John 4:8 that 'God Is Love.' Period.end of story!" -Willie Nelson For more than two centuries, the United States Constitution has given the right to a society where church and state exist independently. But Christianity has been hijacked by far-right groups and politicians who seek to impose their narrow views on government to justify oppressive and unequal policies. The extremists who weaponize the Bible for earthly power aren't actually on the side of Jesus-and historically they never have been. How do we fight back against those acting-literally-in bad faith? But Fugelsang's message is about more than just taking down hypocrites. It's about fighting for the love, mercy, and service that are supposed to make up the heart of Christianity. Told with Fugelsang's trademark blend of radical honesty, humor, and deep political and religious knowledge, Separation of Church and Hate is the book every American today needs. It's a rallying cry for compassion and clarity for anyone of any faith who's sick of the fundamentalists using religion as a cloaking device for hate. How Are Marine Robots Shaping Our Future From James Bellingham
HOW ARE MARINE ROBOTS SHAPING OUR FUTURE? inventor James Bellingham draws on decades of expeditions from the Arctic to the Antarctic to reveal how autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are changing how humans explore and work in the ocean. These robots endure crushing pressures, freezing waters, and total darkness—collecting data vital for climate science, offshore energy, aquaculture, archaeology, and more. And the story doesn’t end on Earth. Many of the same technologies being perfected in our seas will one day explore ocean worlds beyond our planet—including Jupiter’s moon Europa and Saturn’s moon Enceladus—places where liquid water lies beneath thick ice and where conditions may be right for extraterrestrial life. Finding life in these alien oceans would be one of the most profound discoveries in human history, changing how we see ourselves in the universe. From enduring fierce storms off Antarctica to developing robots that “think” and navigate on their own, Bellingham shares the inside story of working at the intersection of:Scientific discovery—expanding our knowledge of oceans on Earth and beyondCutting-edge technology—designing self-reliant machines for extreme environmentsSocietal choice—balancing the benefits of ocean technology with environmental, ethical, and economic considerationsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Batman Day Is Back Samuel Garza Bernstein Celebrates It With Cesar Romero The Joker Is Wild
Dynamic and debonair, Cesar Romero was best known for creating the role of the Joker in the 1960s Batman television series. As the first actor to play Batman and Robin's villainous nemesis, Romero established the character's giddy, manic tone and the distinctive laugh that subsequent actors like Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Joaquin Phoenix would use as the starting points in their own Oscar-nominated (Nicholson) and Oscar-winning (Ledger and Phoenix) performances. As a closeted gay man of Latin American descent, Romero gracefully faced many personal challenges while maintaining his suave public image and starring opposite legends ranging from Shirley Temple to Marlene Dietrich, Carmen Miranda to Frank Sinatra, and Kurt Russell to Jane Wyman. The first biography of the consummate entertainer, Cesar Romero: The Joker Is Wild, captures the critical moments of Romero's childhood, adolescence, and accomplishments in Hollywood. Author Samuel Garza Bernstein shares anecdotes regarding Romero's public and personal life, as well as Romero's private disdain for his reputation as the "Latin lover," a discriminatory stereotype he found constrictive both in terms of his range as an actor and as a man who kept his sexuality private.Cesar Romero is an in-depth study of a significant Hollywood star and his impact on the entertainment industry. Batman made him immortal, but with more than four hundred film and television credits, his six-decade career as an actor, dancer, and singer made him a true Hollywood icon."If you're a fan of classic movies, Hollywood's star-studded golden age, comic book superheroes like Batman, and (along with Darth Vader and the Wicked Witch of the West) one of the three greatest villains in cinema history, the Joker, you'll applaud and even maniacally cackle at this in-depth revelation of the utterly true story of Cesar Romero. And that's no joke!" -Michael Uslan, Originator and Executive Producer of the Batman movie franchise.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

What Shaped Metal Music Into The Void On Hulu Unveils The Path From Jason Eisener And Evan Husney
INTO THE VOID is an intimate, unflinching journey behind the curtain of heavy metal, revealing the resilience, creativity, and catharsis that defined a misunderstood genre and misunderstood community that rallied behind it. Beneath the high-octane performances and screaming guitars lie raw undercurrents of trauma, loss, and personal transformation and defiance.Told through first-hand accounts and beyond-the-headline stories, the series explores what it costs to live outside the lines by spotlighting both celebrated legends like Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrell, overlooked trailblazers like Wendy O. Williams and Ann Boleyn (Ann Hull), and newer powerful figures like the Iranian duo Confess. In doing so, INTO THE VOID humanizes icons often seen only in myth, delving into both the vulnerability behind their larger-than-life personas and cultural battles that shaped and were shaped by them.By threading these stories together, INTO THE VOID shows how heavy metal’s stories of identity, repression, and survival remain as urgent today as when they first shook culture. Told through the voices of those who knew these artists – bandmates, family members, and insiders (including Sharon Osbourne) – the series blends music documentary with true crime, emotional biography, and cultural history to break clichés of the genre and deliver rare authenticity, intimacy, and revelation to each episode. Who Wins Brady Versus Belichick The Dynasty Debate From Gary Myers
A unique and unparalleled look into the nature and relationship of two of the pillars of the NFL's greatest dynasty, the 2001-2018 New England PatriotsThere can be doubt, the greatest dynasty in NFL history stood on two pillars: Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. That is indisputable. Together they forged a working relationship that provided thrilling results that would change the game forever and provide a two-decade-long winning culture not likely to ever be repeated. In those twenty years they helped New England to nine Super Bowls, winning six. But who is/was most responsible? The greatest coach/GM in NFL history? The greatest quarterback (perhaps, greatest player regardless of position) in NFL history? New York Times bestselling author Gary Myers takes the deepest dive yet into a debate that rages to this day in his new book, BRADY vs. BELICHICK: The Dynasty Debate (St. Martin's Press, On Sale September 16, 2025, $31.00).What was the nature of their amazing relationship? Mentor and mentee? Superstar and mad scientist? Phenom and master tactician? Or were they equals? In this fascinating book, veteran NFL insider Gary Myers will draw on the incredible access he has to both subjects as well as scores of players, coaches and management officials. Myers has new interviews with Belichick, Devon McCourty, Rodney Harrison, Julian Edelman, Joe Montana, Tom Brady Sr., and scores more. There is also new material from coaching greats Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson, Tony Dungy, and former Pats assistant coaches Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel, and executives like Ernie Accorsi and Bill Polian. One of the more revealing and compelling chapters in the book is about New York Jets linebacker Mo Lewis, whose sideline hit on then star New England quarterback Drew Bledsoe in 2001 elevated Tom Brady to starting quarterback.and the rest is history. To this day, many fans and haters of New England's success blame Lewis' hit on starting the Patriots dynasty, and Lewis, in the book, doesn't hide his bitter feelings about being tagged with that.In BRADY vs. BELICHICK, Myers goes well into the numbers, analyzing the psychology and sociology of this partnership using his unique perspective to illuminate the greatest duo that ever graced the sport. And who is the most responsible? There is a surprise ending as the reader will discover.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Berlusconi Condemned To Win Sam Blair Scorrrrres With This ESPN 30 For 30 Series
The newest installment of ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 series is the three-part documentary Berlusconi: Condemned to Win, which tells the story of Silvio Berlusconi, one of the most significant and controversial figures in Italian history over the last three decades.Serving as Italy’s prime minister over three different stints, Berlusconi first rose to prominence as a business and media tycoon who owned one of the country’s most storied football clubs, A.C. Milan. As he turned the team into arguably the world’s most successful club, he used its victories to fuel his own popularity — ultimately propelling him to the highest political office in the land. Yet as the film reveals, Berlusconi’s ascent raised troubling questions about how sport can mask corruption and provide a pathway to power with consequences far beyond the game.Berlusconi: Condemned to Win was directed by documentary filmmaker Sam Blair (Maradona ‘86, Make Us Dream, Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything). A graduate of the UK’s National Film and Television School, Blair made his debut with the feature, Personal Best, and later directed Maradona ’86, an ESPN 30 for 30, about Diego Maradona’s legendary performance at the 1986 World Cup. Sam also directed the feature documentary Keep Quiet which premiered in the International Competition at the Tribeca Film Festival as well as the first episode of Captive, a Netflix original documentary series, executive produced by Simon Chinn and Doug Liman.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

The Creator Of Domingo The Bounty Hunter Cindi Fazzi
Drawing on her own immigrant experience, Fazzi takes readers on an action-packed ride full of wit and grit in her thrilling two-book release, SUNDAY OR THE HIGHWAY and DANGER NO PROBLEM (Thomas & Mercer, ISBN-13: 9781662528552 / 9781662528538). Whether it’s traffickers, fugitives, or murderers, main character Domingo loves nothing more than putting the bad guys away. But this brash, immigrant-turned-bounty hunter also has a paradoxical side hustle: writing a book of advice for people immigrating to the US. In Danger No Problem: Domingo’s latest job is to track down Monica Reed. Again. In all his years as a bounty hunter, Monica is the only target who’s ever given him the slip—and the only one he’s ever let go. As Domingo works to flush out Monica for the third time, he uncovers more layers to her story. Dark secrets, hidden sacrifices, and shocking discoveries point to a dangerous truth she’ll risk her life to expose. Now Domingo must decide which side he’s actually on. Previously published as Multo, this edition of Danger No Problem includes editorial revision. In Sunday or the Highway, the exciting second installment - Domingo finds that playing matchmaker for an heiress proves a lot more deadly than Cupid’s arrow. A seemingly easy case involving a lovestruck young heiress turns out to be anything but. Tessa Woodridge, the CEO of a fast-food chain, hires Domingo to locate the undocumented parents of Julian Alondra, the love of her life. When Tessa was eight, fourteen-year-old Julian saved her life. She always believed they were destined to be together. Compared to Domingo’s other cases, this should be a cakewalk. But he soon discovers it’s not all heart eyes and sweet nothings between these two. In his line of work, you learn to prepare for everything you never saw coming—and Domingo can see it from a mile away. About the author: CINDY FAZZI is a Filipino American writer and former Associated Press reporter. Are High School Students Ready For The Future Romy Drucker From The Walton Family Foundation
For the second consecutive year, a majority of students report that when they are most engaged in school, it is because their teachers made the coursework exciting and interesting. Yet, just half of middle school and high school students say their teachers seem excited about what they teach. Only 43 percent say the lessons are interesting, and 37 percent say coursework feels connected to the real world. When schoolwork is challenging and relevant, it helps students build lasting skills and confidence. The increase from 70 to 78 percent of students with a teacher who excites them about the future highlights the powerful role educators play in student engagement and outlook. These findings highlight a chance for schools, communities, and policymakers to respond. The Walton Family Foundation is committed to expanding access to engaging, relevant learning so that every young person, no matter their path, can thrive in school and in life.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
