En el congreso internacional SPIE Medical Imaging celebrado en San Diego (California, USA) los días 16 al 21 de Febrero, se ha distinguido con el premio Robert F. Wagner All-Conference Best Student Paper Award (Runner Up) al trabajo presentado por el investigador de la ULPGC, Himar Fabelo Gómez, titulado “Surgical Aid Visualization System for Glioblastoma Tumor Identification based on Deep Learning and In-Vivo Hyperspectral Images of Human Patients”.
Este trabajo es el resultado de una estrecha colaboración entre el equipo de bioingeniería de la Universidad de Texas en Dallas (USA) y la división DSI del Instituto de Microelectrónica Aplicada (IUMA) de la ULPGC y recoge los resultados de aplicar ‘Deep Learning’ a la identificación de tumores cerebrales de alto grado mediante el uso de imágenes hiperespectrales.
