<p>In this episode, Alex Hall shows us how to change the default app for opening a certain type of file on macOS.</p><p>This may be useful if, for example, you'd rather RTF documents opened with Pages instead of TextEdit by default. To make this change:</p><ol><li>In Finder, navigate to and select a file of the type you want opened with a different app, and choose File > Get info (or press Command-I.)</li><li>Press VO-Space to expand the "Open with" disclosure triangle if it isn't expanded already, and choose the app you want to open the file with from the popup menu. If the app you want is not in the menu, you can choose "Other" and manually locate the app; note that your results will vary depending on that app's compatibility with the given filetype.</li><li>Click the "Change all" button to open all files of this type with the app you chose, then click Continue to confirm the change.</li></ol>

It stars Hank Krang, a dirty thief from the near future who recently had a self-aware time machine called the Time Excursion Digital Interface, or TEDI, fall into his lap after a poker game. He has decided to use this technology to travel throughout time, stealing priceless artefacts. In this, his first adventure, Hank travels to Arthurian times in search of the Holy Grail.</p><p>Players make their choices through a conversation tree, eliminating the more typical requirement of this style of game of having to type your commands to progress.</p><p>The developer states that Grail to the Thief is a nostalgic throwback to childhood favorites such as Zork, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Day of the Tentacle, and Grim Fandango, and draws inspiration from old BBC radio dramas and the movie Time Bandits.</p><p>Grail to the Thief is available from <a href="http://www.foralltoplay.com/" target="_self">the developer’s website</a> and costs $5.00.</p>

<p>In this podcast, Alex Hall takes a look at the Chess application which comes preloaded on all Mac computers. <p>In this podcast, Khalfan Bin Dhaher gives us a demonstration of Inquisitor's Heartbeat for iOS, an audio game that catapults the player right into the 1300s at the height of the brutal Inquisition.</p><p>Accused of heresy for being in possession of a forbidden book, Nicholas Eymerich, the game’s main character is imprisoned in the dungeon of a castle: he must escape from his cell and retrieve the precious book that has been stolen from him, before it is taken to the monastery beyond the forest and destroyed forever.</p><p>In more than 6 hours of gameplay, the player has to find his way through 35 labyrinthine levels divided into 7 different settings, without being spotted by guards and ferocious beasts, trusting only his own ears.</p><p>There is also an ‘endless’ game mode, where the mazes are generated one after the other, always with a different map.</p><p><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inquisitors-heartbeat/id896629808?mt=8&uo=8&at=11l4LS" target="_self">Inquisitor's Heartbeat is available from the iTunes App Store for $16.99</a>.</p>

This includes:</div><div> </div><ul><li>Display of the charge state in the Dock: This is useful if you cannot or do not like to use the display in the menubar of Mac OS X, e.g. when you have a screen which is not very wide.</li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Display of internal battery information: In addition to the charge state, many other technical specifications, e.g. age, temperature, discharge current, number of charge cycles, expected lifetime, or capacity can be retrieved. The states of each of the battery cells and the manufacturer of the cells can also be determined.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Capturing charge and discharge curves: The history of the readings measured by the battery unit can be displayed graphically. This way you can plot the charge and discharge curves, for example, one of the most important characteristics for the health of a battery. You can also review the graphical profile of the amperage drawn by the computer, helping to find “power guzzling applications”.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Bookkeeping of the aging process of the battery: Battery Monitor automatically keeps a log about the charge capacity of the battery which will decrease as the battery ages. This helps you to exactly monitor how the behavior of the battery is changing over time. You can assess if your battery is working normally or if it might be defective. You can also estimate more exactly when the right time has come to purchase a new battery. For computers with replaceable battery units, Battery Monitor can of course monitor multiple battery packs at the same time.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Notifications during charge or discharge: In addition to the display of the charge state in the Dock, Battery Monitor can optionally inform you about the progress of the charge or discharge process by other means.
